- Spoiler:
Mutant Abilities: No mutant powers, but he is very, very smart and more than a little talented in things that are a little less than legal.
X-Men or Brotherhood: X-Men, if he had to pick or was asked to help.
Sexuality: Bi, but that's nobody's business but his own
Personality: Vash is quiet and a little distant, and can take a while to fully warm up to a peson. However, once he decides he cares about you almost nothing in the world will change that. While he'd usually rather not get involved in the problems of other peole (save his sister or friends), if there's something going on that doesn't mesh with his moral compass he's not afraid to step in and help somebody. Vash has often been labled as a trouble-maker and juvenile delinquent and tends to avoid most people (which suits him because most of them avoid him like the plague out of sheer fear of being trounced).
Background: Vash and his younger sister were born and raised in Jim Thorpe, PA, and until recently never cared one way or another about any place outside of his home. Vash had always had a hard time fitting in with his other classmates and peers, finding that he often finished his work for the next several chapters long before they had really begun reading the one they had been assigned. Given how quickly he finished his work and how few challenges school presented, Vash began teaching himself different skills to try and keep himself interested. At first mixed martial arts was enough, but it quickly progressed to mastering various knives and then firearms. When fighting and weapons ceased to be as challenging, Vash began to teach himself what he called "
finer arts, such as picking locks. A particularly entertaining challenge he'd test himself with was to break into a house and take something, and then shortly thereafter break into the same house to put the item back.
This led to Vash distancing himself from his family and friends, branded as a public nuisance and delinquent, and despite testinging out of high school and passing the exams at 15 was still highly looked down upon by the community. Things sailed along much as they had always been, in and out of trouble, until his younger sister began to develop. Vash defended her from their father as best he could, but eventually push came to shove, leading the girl to run away from home... And Vash to follow. With a little guided help, they found themselves at Xavier's school. Vash had been told to go home now that his sister was there, but the stubborn teen wouldn't have it under the reasoning of technically being her legal guardian, so wherever she was, he would be as well. After careful (and somewhat heated) debating and negotiation, Vash was allowed to stay on the campus on the conditions of him working there in any way useful, using his savings to pay what he could of her tuition.
