Character Name: Ludwig Weillschmidt
Age: 16
Professor or Student: Student
Appearance:
Blood (Muggle-born, Pure-blood, Squib, Half-blood, you can also have veela blood or other such things): Pure-blood
House: Slytherin, fifth-year Prefect and Beater for the Quidditch team.
Sexuality: Gay, but as he's so focused with work, he doesn't see how it matters and doesn't bring it up.
Personality: In contrast to his loud older brother, Ludwig is quiet, serious, and even somewhat withdrawn. He lives his life very strictly and seems to run on his own personal schedule. He is a dedicated student, and his schoolwork takes precedence over everything else; sometimes, he will spend long hours in the library just studying or reading. Ludwig is more than a little ambitious (that trait, in addition to his blood status, landed him in Slytherin) and is determined to get ahead; he is a bit of an overachiever. He takes his Prefect duties very seriously as well, but despite how vigilant he is about enforcing the rules, he's not unfair about it, and won't give special treatment to people from his own house. Although Ludwig seldom smiles, he's not an unemotional or unhappy person: he just tends to keep his problems and his feelings to himself. Because of his dedication and work, however, he doesn't have many friends, and can get a bit lonely at times, although he wouldn't let anyone know that. He is a bit disappointed that Hogwarts doesn't allow dogs as pets.
Background: Ludwig is from a well-known and pure-blooded German family, and like his brother, also feels he has a bit of an obligation to live up to the name. He felt very frustrated when Gilbert was accepted to Hogwarts, as he was certain he would be going to Durmstrang regardless, but when he reached the proper age a letter from Hogwarts arrived for him as well. He was only too happy to go. The castle and grounds quickly grew on him, although he never had an easy time making friends.
Upon some of the advice of his housemates, he tried out for the Slytherin Quidditch team and was accepted: the sport gives him something pleasant to enjoy instead of just studying every single hour of the day, and he's not a bad flier. His real ambitions, however, still lie in his schoolwork. His specialty is Transfiguration; he has a natural talent for it, although he works hard to do well in every other subject.
There's no denying that Ludwig has a bit of a prejudice when it comes to half-blooded or Muggle-born wizards. While he is fair to them according to his duties, he treats them with quiet disdain, and mirrors Gilbert's habits of considering them less capable of using magic.
