Mutant Abilities: William can change his own physical sex whenever he chooses, and has learned he can change other people's as well by physical contact. His mutation only works on humans so he can touch animals without worrying if Spot is going to turn into Missy. When he uses his powers on himself the length of time he can spend as a woman is unlimited, but when his powers transform someone else it only lasts for two hours. He doesn't have full control over his ability to change other people's physical sex so that aspect of his mutation activates randomly when he touches other people. He usually wears gloves to try to avoid his abilities activating when he touches other people.

William is a confident, friendly and very easy-going person. He has a good sense of humour and likes to have a laugh with the people he cares about even if some of the joking is at his own expense sometimes. If he considers you his friend you’ve got his loyalty (even more so if he considers you close enough to be family) unless you do something that’s completely unforgiveable, and he’ll be there for you if you need help. He’s very willing to help out anyone, but rarely asks for help even if he needs it as he sees doing so as a sign of weakness. It isn’t, of course, but good luck trying to tell him that.

He has a temper that he keeps under control most of the time, and it takes a fair bit of provocation for him to lose it. He also has a stubborn streak which doesn’t help when he does lose his temper. He can be agreeable too but only to a point as he doesn’t want anyone to think he’s a pushover. He tries to avoid arguments if he can help it, but if it’s about something that’s important to him he’ll argue the point for as long as it takes. William can be quite competitive too, and gives it his all at work and when he’s playing sport. Cheaters also infuriate him especially if their cheating affects the result of the game.

Background: William was born on May 23rd 1995 and up until he was 13 his life was nothing out of the ordinary: he went to school, hung out with his friends on the weekend, played a bit of sport, and his life was generally good. All of that changed one morning when he woke up, looked in the mirror and saw a girl smiling back at him. He looked down, realised he was the girl, and fainted. Thankfully he was a boy again when he woke up.

The second time he turned into a girl was at home again in front of his parents, and although they were shocked at first they didn't kick William out onto the street. A few weeks later a representative from the Xavier School came to visit William and his parents to offer him a place at the school and an opportunity to help him learn to control his powers. He discovered that he could use his powers on other people when he accidentally turned someone at the school into the opposite sex. They changed back after a couple of hours, and that was when William started to wear gloves to try to stop himself from accidentally transforming other people.
