Personality:

Birkir is a very silent, very withdrawn young man. He does not speak, and prefers to communicate by writing, or drawing pictures. He had suicidal episodes every once in a while, due to the circumstances surrounding his arrival at the asylum. He is almost unnaturally submissive, unless he feels threatened, at which time he will lash out violently and without warning.

Background:

Birkir lived with his mother and father until they died in a fire started by his pet puffin. He was the only one that survived the fire, and because of this fact, he has an almost overwhelming sense of guilt that causes him to attempt suicide every time he dreams of what happened.
